How to Style a Spooky Halloween Party Table

Spooky-elegant Halloween party table with candelabras and dark florals

Every great Halloween party has a table guests gather around — and every great party table has one hero piece that anchors it. This year, make yours a melting pumpkin candy bowl: spooky, practical, and impossible to walk past without grabbing a sweet.

Melting pumpkin candy bowl

Start with the hero

Place your centrepiece first and build everything else around it. Our melting pumpkin candy bowl (£26.18) looks like a pumpkin mid-melt — a proper conversation piece — and the lid keeps the sweets covered until guests arrive. Fill it generously with wrapped sweets in orange, black and purple. It's currently 10% off until 1 November.

Build the scene around it

Layer a black or deep-purple tablecloth, scatter autumn leaves and mini pumpkins around the bowl, and add candles at different heights for that flickering party glow. Odd numbers of decorations (three candle clusters, five mini pumpkins) look more natural than even rows. Keep the palette tight — black, orange and one accent — and the table will look styled rather than cluttered.

Keep it practical

Put the candy bowl where guests can actually reach it, and stick to wrapped sweets for hygiene. Leave space at one end of the table for drinks so sticky fingers and glasses don't collide. And once the party's over, set the autumn mood with our autumn home fragrance guide. Find more party pieces in the Halloween collection.
